Welcome to My Life by Simple Plan
Do you ever feel like breaking down?
Do you ever feel out of place?
Like somehow you just don't belong
And no one understands you
Do you ever wanna runaway?
Do you lock yourself in your room?
With the radio on turned up so loud
That no one hears you screaming
No you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels all right
You don't know what it's like
To be like me
To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like
Welcome to my life
Do you wanna be somebody else?
Are you sick of feeling so left out?
Are you desperate to find something more?
Before your life is over
Are you stuck inside a world you hate?
Are you sick of everyone around?
With their big fake smiles and stupid lies
While deep inside you're bleeding
No you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels all right
You don't know what it's like
To be like me
To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like
Welcome to my life
No one ever lied straight to your face
No one ever stabbed you in the back
You might think I'm happy but I'm not gonna be okay
Everybody always gave you what you wanted
Never had to work it was always there
You don't know what it's like, what it's like
To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like (what it's like)
To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like
Welcome to my life
Welcome to my life
Welcome to my life
So, I know it's kind of cheesy to use song lyrics in a blog post, but this song says exactly how I'm feeling right now. I'm tired of playing the social games where you smile and act like everything is all hunky-dory because the people around you don't really care about anyone but themselves. I'm tired of being the nice person that invites everyone over for food and games only to have my home disrespected by so-called adults acting like freshmen in high school. I'm tired of people saying "we should hang out more" only to have them forget about me when I'm not in front of their face. I'm tired of sticking my neck out for people I know, trying to be nice and make them feel welcome, only to have none of those courtesies offered to me in return. I'm tired of making all these efforts to be social only to ultimately have no social life. If I wanted to have no social life I wouldn't have made the effort to get to know people when I moved here. I could have stayed the way I was in Louisiana, a social recluse. So, why do I continue to torture myself trying to have a social life?

Hey sis,
I randomly just decided to look at your blog while doing homework and I wanted to let you know that I do know how you feel. I hate having to always stick my neck out and never get anything from it. It seems like I'm the only one trying at times. That's when I have started to just remember one thing and that is that Heavenly Father loves us & Jesus Christ suffered these exact feelings for us and that if we go to them they can lift our burdens. Now, I'm not trying to sound all preachy to my older sister because that's just dumb, but I am letting you know that as your baby sister I've always looked up to you, and I admire you in everything you do! There are days I just totally want to be just like you! I hope this helps! I love you forever!
your baby sister,
Frances
I AM SOOO SORRY!!
I know the feeling. I wish I had the answers but I don't.
Frances commented on my blog where I wrote similar things. I found her comments rather insightful. I don't know if I can help you but I can tell you that you're not alone. Sometimes I just hate that feeling that I need some social interaction because I don't feel like I'm really getting anything out of it. I gladly invite friends to do things with me but I receive no such invitations in return. Anyways, I guess we just can't let it get us down. At least we all have each other. We should probably call each other more often. I've been letting life (or rather the lack thereof) get in the way.
